We provide short-term financial assistance to professional visual artists living in Yukon who are in acute need because of serious health or family issues. A visual artist’s career can lead to difficulties and hardships that are not covered or insured  like the social safety nets of other vocations. The Yukon Artist Relief Fund was established in 2009 by a group of artists and art lovers. YARF is a committee within the Yukon Arts Foundation and is Canadian Registered Charity 865108013RR0001. All funds raised are from Art Anonymous (pictured above) and from personal donations.  Over the years we have counted on the oh-so-appreciated in-kind support of Jazz Yukon, PR Services and the Yukon Arts Centre.  Local photographers like Christian Kuntz and Mark Kelly have been so generous. And local businesses and societies like Arts Underground, Yukon Artists @ Work, Yukon Brewing, The Chocolate Claim, Coast Mountain Sports and Yukon Brewing have been there for us too! 
We have helped visual artists with the costs of traveling to Vancouver for chemo, we have flown an artist's family members to visit during palliative care, we have helped artists who suffered severe shingles and heart attacks, we have helped with funds for depression therapy and more.
